They're not difficult nor cumbersome to maintain and they all have volume knobs. And I must say, beware of internet myths about tube amps. ![]() Not trying to piss in your Cheerios, honestly I dig the Valvetronix amps, if you like the amp, get it. The other part is I have swapped out the tube in my trusty ol' VT30, an amp I was intimately familiar with, tried both JJ and RCA(!). That's part of why I suspect it wasn't designed for tube swaps (especially given its a starter amp). They show off that tube in the lil grill but you have to take the amp apart and pull out the chasis just to change the tube.are you up for that? In a normal tube amp, the tubes are somewhat accessible (at least you don't have to disassemble the entire amp), it truly is like changing a lightbulb. I enjoy the big Mustang for its Fender sounds, and the versatility of the amp overall. I own a Mustang III v2, and a Mustang I v1. Not to say it isn't a kickass starter amp, I'm a fan. Hi there, I was interested to read your comments on the Vox VT20X, and that because of your like for that amp, caused you to buy its biggest brother the VT100X. If its anything like the the ad Valvetronix amps.I don't think it was ever meant to be changed and I suspect its more gimmick than anything. ![]()
